Elegant And Unique Tommy Hilfiger Shoes

Hilfiger opened his own store, named The People's Place, around the block in downtown Elmira. Although the store was a hot spot for teens with frequent contests and live DJ appearances, there were often more people hanging out than shopping. Over the years, a number of stores closed in downtown Elmira as shopping traffic shifted to the new Arnot Mall in Horseheads, New York. It wasn't long before The People's Place became another casualty. After seven years, The People's Place went bankrupt, when Hilfiger was 25. The site of the original store has since been demolished to make room for First Arena, home of the Elmira Jackals Hockey team.

My Birthday Is Almost Over

Well, officially. But the celebrations will continue throughout the week a la Vegas! Giddy :)

Hilfiger has been criticized for manufacturing clothes in sweatshop conditions in the United States territory of Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands. As a U.S. Commonwealth, clothes made there can be labeled "Made in the USA", but federal labor laws including the minimum wage do not apply. In March 2000, the company, along with other defendants, settled a class action suit brought by Saipan garment workers, which had alleged mistreatment by over 20 large U.S. clothing manufacturers.

VACATION TIME!!!

I'm packing and getting ready for a 16 day vacation to Montana! Here are the hair products that I'm bringing with me:

One reason why I love all these products are because they pack up nicely and lay flay in my bag. I'll be in the water and sun all day so the Kevin Murphy Bodyguard will help add moisture back into my hair. The KM Heated Defence Volumising Spray and KM Powder Puff will give my hair some lift for when I blow out my hair. Wella Ocean Spritz will give me that "beach wave" look for when I don't feel like drying my hair, and finally KM Fresh Hair will do just that, freshen up my hair!!!

Reminiscing: Dolce & Gabbana S/S '08

Don't mind me while I just reminisce over the Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Sumer RTW show of 2008. I will always remember these paint splattered dresses, and apparently the lace up shoes stuck in my mind, as I recently purchased some wedges near identical to the black ones from Kurt Geiger.

This collection had a huge influence on my final textiles project at college, and for many other students too. Now I'm looking back, with changed tastes and a more finely tuned eye (as ridiculous as that sounds) I can appreciate other elements of the collection, not just the show-stopping painted ball gowns.
